UPs and DOWNs of Praja Rajyam Party

UPs:

·PRP quickly became the political party to beat in upcoming state elections. Pavan Kalyan is energizing crowds like anything, Pavan proved to be quite inspiring. In some ways, he is able to energize crowd more than Chiru.

·Chiranjeevi clearly articulated his preference on Telangana which forced current main opposition party, TDP, to go along with separate statehood for Telangana and Congress is pretty much in soup when it comes to Telangana.

·Chiranjeevi ignited debate on SEZs and government's role in land acquisitions.

·Chiranjeevi made a surprise visit to Sirisella. Although lots of career politicians criticized Chiru for his surprise visit and questions his motive – it is well known fact, rest of the political parties are following Chiru's lead and paying lot more attention to Sirisella and struggles of weavers.

·Chiru talked about village empowerment during the launch and mentioned the same few times during his Praja Ankitha Yatra. Although we have Panchayat elections, our local leaders hardly have any power or budget to improve conditions in the villages. Unless we re-distribute powers and empower villages, India will not become a developed nation. Chiru got this point and stressed the same multiple times; hopefully rest of the politician Klan will grab this idea soon.

·Praja Ankitha Yatra is a huge success in Uttara Andhra region. For the most part, Congress and TDP pretty much never paid much attention to Srikakulam, Vijayanagaram etc. districts. After Praja Ankitha Yatra's enormous success in this region, Congress and TDP started paying attention. I loved Chiru's statement, why so many folks migrate away from this region when this region has abundant natural resources.

·PRP attracted several key political maestros from two major political parties. Although there are significant number of TDP folks migrated to PRP, once Congress loses power I suspect inflow from Congress into PRP will also be at similar levels.

·Chiru ignited power of the public service.

·Despite Chiru had to cut short Praja Ankitha Yatra schedule due to his voice problems, it is a mega hit tour. Times have changed since NTR's launch of TDP. People don't need to hear high-pitch dialogues or over-action gestures; Chiru speaks in a plain language (mix of Telugu & English words the way most of us speak) and wears normal clothes)

DOWNs:

·Chiru wanted to plant 1 crore trees yet there had been little or no progress. PRP yet to build grass-root campaign debacle of 1 crore tree plants is a good example of lack of grass-root campaign.
·PRP is not able to articulate role of Chiru's cine fans vs. career politicians. Unless you can channelize the energy of Megastar's mega fans, PRP will continue to face tough challenges to build the grass-root campaign.
·PRP yet to organize party structure and set up the leadership team. Of course, for a foreseeable future, PRP will continue to thrive on brand Chiru. Even 100+ year old Congress party needed Gandhi family member's leadership to save the party so what is wrong for PRP to rely upon Chiru's charisma and his unyielding commitment to the public service.
·There was a strong rumor that Mr. AdiKesava Naidu would join PRP in Tirupathi during the launch, losing Mr. Naidu is a big blow to PRP in Tirupathi/Chittor areas.
·Tollywood yet to make strong contribution to PRP. It would have been nice if Chiru had mega hits like Indra and Tagore leading the PRP launch.
·PRP must realize there won't be a single party in the state which can form the government in upcoming elections. Three way race heavily favors Congress, when we have 3 or 4 ways race Congress will be the favorite to win in most seats throughout the state. PRP should respect the current political scenario and lead a mega alliance to beat Congress.

I truly hope that MEGA MAHA KUTAMI will form to beat Congress in UPCOMING STATE ELECTIONS!!! It takes virtually all opposition parties plus PRP to beat Congress.

PRP is a bit overconfident about thier prospects, without strong aliances, PRP will NOT win - strong second or third does not make any sense and it won't help PRP's prime mott of "public service" so I strongly ask all of you to request for formation of MEGA MAHA KUTAMI soon to beat Congress !!!
